An independent technology and service provider, Adcloud, has recently dispensed its NetAcuity Edge global, hyperlocal geolocation data to target ads down to postcode geographic areas. Adcloud provides up to 5,000 advertising contacts per second for 3,500 advertisers on more than 500 premium websites in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.
NetAcuity Edge contains postcode-level targeting software which reaches locally defined target groups with more accuracy. NetAcuity Edge combines traditional data analysis with anonymous insights collected from several partners in order to create the most accurate hyperlocal dataset that still allows for anonymity and privacy for the end-user.
Why is this important?
- In 2011, $18.7 billion (approx. EUR13.8 billion) was spent in online advertising in Western Europe, while Eastern Europeans are estimated to have spent $3.2 billion (approx. EUR2.4 billion).
- Geolocation technology generally has an unfavorable stigma attached to it because it is said to violate privacy. However, NetAcutiy’s anonymous data eliminates that problem.
- NetAcuity Edge is the only validated IP-to-postcode geographic data on the market.
- NetAcuity Edge doesn’t rely on routing infrastructure analysis to an approximate city-level location.
