Avis Car Rental rewards program has made it faster and easier for members of Avis Preferred, the Company’s express rental/loyalty program, to redeem rewards. Now, Avis Preferred Points can be used for rental days starting at just 700 points with no blackout dates. Accessories, such as GPS units, SiriusXM® and child safety seats, are now available for only 250 points per day. Also, members will automatically earn a minimum of 100 Avis Preferred Points on every rental. Members will continue to earn one point for every dollar spent on vehicle rentals and double points for every dollar spent on accessories.

“We know that travelers have a choice in car rental, so we appreciate our loyal customers and want to be sure that we show our appreciation by rewarding their continued business,” said Scott Deaver, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Avis Budget Group. “We’ve enhanced the loyalty redemption portion of Avis Preferred in response to our customers’ comments and suggestions, and believe that we have delivered a more rewarding and satisfying program.”

How to Earning Rewards

  • Earn 250 bonus points when you opt into Avis Preferred Points and rent once within three months.
  • Every rental earns a minimum of 100 points.

Avis Preferred members who download the Avis mobile app on iOS and Android devices can control their entire rental experience, from start to finish, via their smartphones.Avis Mobile App

On the Avis Mobile App Members Can:

  • Confirm, change or cancel reservations.
  • Choose the exact car they want just prior to arriving at the rental facility
  • Extend rentals
  • View rental agreements at any time
  • Return the car without assistance
  • Obtain real-time updates and more

The Avis mobile app is compatible with all vehicles in the Avis fleet, including 50,000 connected cars that enable further enhancements to the rental experience such as smartphone-controlled door locking and unlocking, mileage readings at the start and end of each rental via the app and a host of other customer benefits.

  • Accelerate your rewards by opting into Avis Preferred Points. Receive 25%-50% more points for every qualifying dollar you spend.
  • Special Avis Preferred Plus number for reservations and customer service support.
  • Exclusive monthly email offers.
  • To reach Avis Preferred Plus status, complete 12 rentals or spend $5,000 US dollars in a calendar year.

Avis Preferred is free to join and is open to residents of the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  As an additional bonus, customers who complete an eligible rental within three months of enrolling will receive an additional 250 points. Members can track their activity on Avis.com as well as via the Company’s mobile app. Avis Preferred Points cannot be earned on rentals where customers are already receiving mileage, credits or points for the rental through a frequent traveler program such as for airlines or hotels. Factors such as location, time of year and car class will affect the number of Avis Preferred Points required for redemption.
