Twitter Email Digest: Social Network Will Send Best of the Week to Your Inbox
Since about December of the last year, 2011, Twitter has been undertaking some major renovations to the network’s design. During this redesign, a number of changes have been made to improve the site for all who use it; most recently, they recently announced their intentions to extend their reach farther into the lives of their users through the sending of a weekly email digest. This weekly email allows for Twitter to push content rather than just rely on the users to come to the site themselves. In addition, by capitalizing off of some recent acquisitions that the company made, Twitter now has the capability to directly personalize and tailor emails to specific groups of people based on their shared personal preferences. Each email caters it’s content to appeal to the individual user and features stories and tweets that people you are connected with share. From the email itself, you also have the opportunity to Tweet a direct response and then see other related posts thats your peers wrote. It even includes the most “engaging Tweets” that are seen by those that you follow, even if you may not be following them yourself. Marketers should be jumping at the chance to get their company’s Tweets seen or even their advertisements seen on a weekly basis through the distribution of the Twitter email digest.

I think the Twitter email digest is a perfect tool for brands to get their name out. This also allows for Twitter to become more personalized which will increase its own identity in the social media world.
