Study: Top 10 Retail Loyalty Programs for Millennials


A PunchTab study reveals the shopping patterns and loyalty program usage of millennials. The report surveyed more than 1,200 Millennials and ranked the top 10 fashion and accessories programs among men and women of that generation. The study shows 63% of millennials would join a consumer loyalty program if given incentives and 51% prefer store loyalty programs that cover multiple brands.

The top 10 fashion and accessories retail loyalty programs for Millennial men:

  1. Kohl’s
  2. Dick’s Sporting Goods
  3. Target
  4. Macy’s/Marshall Field’s
  5. Republic/Piperlime/Athleta
  6. Sears/Kmart
  7. American Eagle
  8. Sports Authority
  9. Express
  10. Nike

The report found that 74% of Millennial woman and 52% of Millennial men are members of at least one fashion and accessories loyalty program, and 64% of women and 42% of men are active in at least one retail loyalty program.

The number one reason women gave for engaging in a loyalty program was “I love shopping there and would shop there even without a rewards program.” For men, the top reason for engaging in a loyalty program was “It’s easy to participate.”

When asked what they want from a loyalty program, 51% of Millennials rated exclusive access to events and products as the most desirable type of reward.
