Carlson launched its new hotel loyalty program on March 31, 2011, but many people may be unaware of what Carlson is as a company. Carlson is a travel company that is focused on “World-wide, world-class hospitality and travel.” The goals of the company consist of wanting the brands that they represent to be leading in their market segment and to be the number one hospitality and travel company for investors to invest in. The company has been growing in key strategic markets of travel hospitality throughout the world.
The new hotel loyalty program that Carlson has launched “offers members an enriched array of first class opportunities and enhanced benefits, as well as new vacation options through partnerships with CWT Vacations and Club Med,” stated in a recent press release. One of the main purposes of the new program is for members to be able to earn points at a maximized speed so they can earn more free nights at Carlson hotels. Carlson has launched the new loyalty program to compete with other hotel programs, such as Intercontinental’s Priority Class and Hilton Honors.
“We are pleased to debut Club Carlson, our new loyalty program, which is designed to be one of the most rewarding programs in travel and will enable members to enjoy a remarkably fast way to a free night stay,” said Heather Passe, Vice President, marketing, loyalty and e-commerce, Carlson Hotels.
Members of the new loyalty program will be able to redeem points at Carlson properties with no blackout dates. This includes 1,070 hotels in 77 countries, including the company’s 42 stunning resorts in the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific, as mentioned in a recent press release. Their website, www.Carsn.com, says that in addition to their hotels, Carlson also has 900 restaurants in 60 countries. In a effort to give rewards members more variety in redeeming points, 20 new retail and restaurants partners have been added to the loyalty program and accept Carlson points. A few that are included are Best Buy, iTunes, Target, and T.G.I Fridays. The program has no blackout dates on standard rooms, making it easier for member to redeem their points.
For the new loyalty program, Carlson is reaching out to the mobile market. They have launched an application with the new program for the iPhone and Android cell phones. The application includes express booking, personalization options, GPS mapping and the ability to redeem points. The application also has a link to “Explore Destinations”, which contains more than 4.4 million points of interest of local restaurants all the way to tourist attractions. This application is great for those who are traveling and use a cellular phone on a daily basis.
There is also a website that they have set up called www.DoTheMathSite.com, where customers can visit and calculate how quickly they can earn points, and free nights, through the Carlson rewards program.
With the new program, Carlson is hoping to have 10 million Club Carlson members by 2013. Carlson’s new hotel loyalty program is great for Carlson members because the program is centered around the company’s goals, such as being a top travel company, as well as focusing on the customers by allowing members to earn points at a faster rate to earn more free nights at hotels.
